Father Brendan; the ultimate athlete. Shortly after completing the gruelling Hartley Challenge, Father Brendan joined the first TriHards team in their introduction to adventure racing, the AROC Corporate Challenge, 2006. The race wasn’t nearly enough to tire the stout soul, so he went off afterwards to play a game of soccer with his work colleagues...

Father Brendan
Father Brendan

Father Brendan is a hard man, produced in the steel city of Newcastle. Not much is known of his early years, and even less is ever revealed of his later years; the Father is a secretive, stealth machine ready for adventure at a moment’s notice, always pushing the boundaries, always looking for new avenues of exploration or methods to try to tire his untiring body.

The Father is known for always going that little bit further. On the initial TriHard outing to the Gong Ride, where others tested the waters with the half ride, the Father dived into the full ride. When exploring the wonderful single tracks at Mt Majura, and discovering the Mineshaft, Father Brendan was the first down it - remaining on his bike the whole time - while everyone else was still trying to affix a belay point.

Father Brendan, who is well aware of his reckless adventuring behaviour, has already set about to replace himself, spawning a baby-Brendan with his beautiful wife. Baby Brendan has already commenced a gruelling training regimen, and is already making short work of a 50km ride without the assistance of training wheels (or indeed the ability to walk).
